Silverwood

Silverwood is a beautifully designed one-bedroom retreat on the idyllic Waternish peninsula. With floor-to-ceiling windows framing breathtaking views across to the Outer Hebrides, it’s the perfect escape for couples or solo travellers seeking peace and comfort. Finished to the highest standard, Silverwood offers warmth, style, and tranquility — a serene hideaway designed to help you unwind and experience Skye at its most spectacular.

The Space

Nestled just above the coast of the Waternish Peninsula, Silverwood is a beautifully proportioned single-storey retreat designed for those seeking peace, luxury and panoramic sea views. Floor-to-ceiling windows dominate the front elevation, framing the islands of Isay and Mingay and filling the living space with ever-changing light.

The interior is crafted to the highest standard: a wood-burning stove and carefully considered finishes create a warming atmosphere of comfort, while the open-plan layout encourages moments of togetherness. With its elevated position — just 60 metres above the coast and adjacent to a croft — the view becomes an ever-present companion, whether you’re curled by the fireplace on a rain-laced evening or sipping wine on the terrace as dusk descends.

For nights when skies are clear, Silverwood sits within a designated Dark Sky region. When the world outside fades, the stars come alive — offering guests a rare, expansive canopy overhead that complements the serenity within.

Waternish is one of Skye’s most captivating corners — peaceful, scenic, and rich with character. The peninsula offers a perfect blend of seclusion and discovery, where rolling hills meet rugged coastline and every turn reveals a new view.

Guests can visit the charming village of Stein, home to the Stein Inn (Skye’s oldest pub) and the renowned Loch Bay Restaurant, celebrated for its Michelin-starred seafood. The area is dotted with local craft studios, including Skye Skyns, Skíō Pottery, and a number of artisan galleries and workshops.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Waternish is ideal for coastal walks, kayaking, and wildlife spotting — keep an eye out for seals, otters, and even dolphins offshore. And when you’re ready to explore further, Dunvegan Castle, Neist Point Lighthouse, and the island’s stunning northern landscapes are all within easy reach. Check out our Locations page and its tailored map to help you plan your visit.

Tranquil, authentic, and undeniably beautiful, Waternish offers a true escape — the kind of place where time slows down and the island’s magic feels all your own.

'This has to be the nicest accommodation we’ve stayed in. It was stunning. The view was incredible and we never tired looking at it. The space itself was faultless; had everything you could need, extremely comfortable bed, excellent (huge) shower, and every detail considered. We would return in a heartbeat!'
